X Factor style wars

Tulisa's flagging again in X Factor style wars as Nicole Scherzinger trounces her again in flowing maxi dress

After a bizarre attempt at rocking a faux-bob on last night's show, Tulisa Constostavlos walked on to the X Factor looking like her usual self.
Her raven hair was blow dried to perfection, and she coordinated her satin poppy with a slash of red lipstick.
However, her dress, a bodycon number with sheer panelling, was perhaps too daring for the Young singer to pull off.

While the look would have been fine for a night on the town, it somewhat lacked the reverence required by the live results show.
Fellow judge Nicole Scherzinger's dress sat at the opposing end of the fashion scale.
The 34-year old American wore a mushroom coloured dress with muted green and brown pattern.

It was floor length, but its strapless neckline kept it just on the right side of sexy, and she looked self-assured as she greeted the audience at the start of the show.
It was a million miles from Tulisa's style, which had panels on the thigh that made it look like her dress was far more revealing than it was.
The sleeves of the short clingy dress were also sheer, and embellished with sequins.

The outfit was totally different to what the N Dubz frontwoman wore on last night's show.
Tulisa overhauled her style by wearing a cropped brown wig and elegant, beaded gown.
The extreme makeover had some people on Twitter describing as as Liz Taylor playing Cleopatra.
Aside from the usual outfit wars, it was a dramatic night for the contestants and judges as the show rumbles towards its grand final next month.
But, tensions were temporarily alleviated when X Factor alumni Little Mix returned to the studio to perform their new track.
Jesy Nelson, Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock have enjoyed chart success since last December's final, and are no doubt hoping that DNA will continue that trend.

The girls were wearing military inspired outfits with bullet detailing and gold panels, and the judges were delighted to see them.
Tulisa mentored the band to glory last year, and is probably hoping that her last remaining act of this series, Ella Henderson, will be just as well received by the public.
When the time came to announce who would be in the sing off tonight, Tulisa and Ella looked visibly anxious.

But when she was revealed as one of the acts who was safe for next week's show, the girls leapt in to the air with joy.
Sadly, there will probably be tears before bedtime for District 3 who were sent home in favour of fellow boyband Union J.
