Ben Affleck has claimed he received worse press than one of America's most notorious killers when he dated Jennifer Lopez.
The multimillionaire movie star complained he was treated more harshly than Scott Peterson, who was convicted seven years ago of brutally murdering his wife and unborn son in 2002.
Actor and director Ben, who dated J-Lo from 2002 to 2004, made the shocking comparison in an interview for December's edition of GQ Magazine.

Displaying a complete lack of self-awareness, he said: 'At the time, I knew on some level, "This is insane."
'What was that guy’s name who killed his wife and dumped her off the side of a boat?
'Peterson. I remember thinking he actually gets slightly better treatment than I do in the press. At least they had to say "alleged killer."'

The 40-year-old actor and director, whose latest film Argo is being tipped for Oscar nominations, continued to wallow in self pity as he talked about how he felt like he was being attacked en masse.
He said: 'Unfortunately there’s an aspect of that that’s like one of those fights you see on YouTube where one of them falls down and then a bunch of people who were standing around come over and kick the person.
'They don’t know them, they have no involvement in the fight, but they recognise a moment that they can get a free shot in, and for some people it’s just too much to resist.
'And that was definitely me at that point. I was the guy. I was the designated person to loath.'
Many will no doubt be shocked that the A-lister compared his situation to that of Peterson, who was convicted of first degree murder for the death of his wife Laci and second degree murder for the death of his unborn son Conner.
He was caught after the remains of a fetus washed ashore from San Francisco Bay in Richmond's Point Isabel Regional Shoreline, north of the Berkeley Marina, where Peterson had been boating the day of Laci's disappearance.
The next day, a partial female torso missing its hands, feet, and head, and later identified as Laci, washed ashore in the same area.
Autopsies were performed, but due to decomposition the specific cause of death could not be determined.
He is currently is sitting on death row after being sentenced to death by lethal injection.
However Ben, who was seen today spending time with his daughters Seraphina and Violet in Brentwood, was still not finished talking about his relationship with the 43-year-old Latina icon.

He added: 'The amount of venom, I must have touched some specific little place in the consciousness.
'I don’t believe I didn’t deserve any negative judgement for anything, but it was just sort of out of whack.'
He also claimed people got the wrong impression of him due to his relationship with his former fiancée, which was sparked when they starred in disastrous 2003 romantic comedy Gigli, which went on to make just $7m from a $76m budget.

The father-of-three said: 'I knew how disastrous it was. It was the last thing I wanted, and I could tell how it was damaging me.
'But there was still this idea: This is what this guy wants, he’s a shallow guy, a camera whore or whatever. And there was no convincing people that that wasn’t the case.'
He said that while the frenzy surrounding the relationship 'was really bad in all kinds of different ways, particularly in terms of emotional life and sense of self,' it forced him take stock.
Ben subsequently launched his now successful directing career, as well as settling down with wife Jennifer Garner, who he married in 2005.
